NEET Postcard Photo Size 2025 — 4×6 Inch Complete Guide

NEET UG requires two types of photos: the standard digital passport photo for online registration (200×230px, 10–100KB), and a physical 4×6 inch postcard-size photo that you must carry to the exam center and paste on the attendance sheet. This guide covers the postcard photo specifically.

Do Not Forget Physical Prints

Students are denied entry to NEET exam halls for not carrying physical postcard-size photos. Carry at least 4 prints — 1 for the attendance sheet, 1 for the answer sheet registration page, and extras as backup. The photo must be the same as the one uploaded online.

How to Prepare Your NEET Postcard Photo

  1. 1Get a professional passport photo taken with a white or off-white background.
  2. 2The photo must show your full face from chin to top of head, with ears visible.
  3. 3Do not wear spectacles, cap, or any head covering (except for religious reasons).
  4. 4You need to print this on a 4×6 inch (10×15 cm) postcard-size photo paper.
  5. 5Use the resizer below to convert your digital photo to 800×1200px (4×6 inch at 200 DPI).
  6. 6Print the resized photo at a photo studio and carry 2–4 copies to the exam hall.
  7. 7Also bring the same photo for the registration page of NEET answer sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Is the postcard photo the same as the passport photo?

A. No. The passport photo (for online upload) is 200×230px (about 2.5×3.5 cm). The postcard photo is 4×6 inch — much larger. It must be printed and physically carried to the exam hall.

Q.How many postcard photos should I carry?

A. Carry at least 4 copies: one for the attendance sheet, one for the NEET answer sheet registration page, and two extras as backup. Not having enough copies can disrupt your exam process.

Q.Can the postcard photo be different from the one uploaded online?

A. No. The invigilator will compare your physical photo with the one on your admit card (which comes from your online upload). The photos must match in appearance — same outfit, same hairstyle if possible.

Q.Can I wear glasses in the NEET photo?

A. NTA guidelines state that spectacles are not allowed in NEET photos. However, if you wear prescription glasses and cannot remove them, you should carry a certificate from your doctor. When in doubt, remove glasses for the photo.

Q.What background color is required for the NEET photo?

A. White or off-white plain background. No colored backgrounds, no gradients, no patterns. The face should take up 70–80% of the photo frame.
